Day Two!

we toured the places in the city centre. haha so first up went to the rejuvenated palace, notre dame cathedral, the post office, the war memorial museum, lacquerware factory, then the thien hou temple (thien hou miew.. HAHAHAHAH!) and finally shopping in the chinese market!

we toured the rejuvenated palace for a super long time. HAHAHAHAH! we thought that maybe after being scolded last night for the messy dinner, the tourguide hurried home to do some homework. so he ended up talking a lot and a lot and alot about the palace, which we weren't very interested in. HAHAHA! and since we had so many other places to go to, we just kept walking before the tourguide introduced us the places. we were getting impatient alr but he just kept on talking and talking. cuz like the palace is huge and he brought us to every single room etc. hahaha! okays so finally we left the place after snapping a few pictures! ((:

fountain outside the palace.
spot the rainbow! (:

Gifts, Elephant legs, given to Vietnam King

King's car! ((:

next was the Notre Dame Cathedral. once we entered, it was super peaceful! the whole cathedral is very big. there are like confession areas for about 4 different languages i think! hahaha! quite cool. the music was not from a cd as i thought it was until my mom showed me the person playing the piano. hahaha! stayed there for a short while before leaving for the post office next to the cathedral! ((:

spotlight? nah. its just sunlight!

in front of the cathedral!

the post office is very big too! too bad i din take a nice view of the whole post office. sighh. only some mini pictures. hahaha! but anyway, there are a lot of people there. the ceiling is very high and the whole building is very long! and there's this whole row of telephone booths! ((: quite a beautiful place. i like both the Notre Dame Cathedral and the post office cuz both places are quite meaningful to me. very purposeful cuz they are still in use now. yeah. haha!

in front of the post office! beautiful building isn't it?

inside the post office

cin zhao! (hello!)

so after we left the post office, we travelled to the war memorial museum. there, i saw lots of war pictures. so cruel, so heartwrenching, so... unacceptable. now i really think war is quite stupid. make the people live in fear, risk their precious lives, waste money and resources just cuz people can't get to an acceptable conclusion. this is just my childish opinion so you can just ignore it. hahaha! wait till i become more mature, i shall revisit this topic of war. hahahaha! anyway, in the musuem, there are lots of pictures hung up on the walls for us to see. and its incredible to see the number of pictures. its just so weird, like people are having war and there are people who are so 'free' to take pictures and not help to fight the war. but without them, i won't get to see the actual scenerios of war. i think that its kind of weird. hahaha!
so just randomly took some pictures with the aircrafts that they used.

bomb that is bigger than me!!

how they torture the prisoner!
so poor thing! -sobs-
try reading the chinese words in the background!

the rectangle box on the right is where the prisoners are kept on the way to their execution. when they reach this room, they are being lifted from the box and seated in the device on the left and then beheaded. OUCH! -shudders-

all right, enough of the gruesome stuff. the next stop was the lacquerware factory! a very cool factory! the end products are very nice but the procedures are very tedious. they have to do repeated steps just to get the shiny and smooth effects. but still, they are pieces of art which are so amazing! ((: they use materials like wood, duck egg shells and clam shells to create beautiful pieces of arts and other items like boxes, furnitures!

cool isn't it? look closely and you'll see the human body is made up of shells! they have to break the shells into tiny pieces and then fit them like jigsaw puzzle! and this piece isn't small! took them a few months to finish! AMAZING isn't it?

boxes to contain make-up and stuff.

2-piece picture! it just fits so perfectly!!

after the lacquerware factory, we went for lunch before going to the Thien Hou Temple. lunch was good! hahaha as compared to the dinner last night. how good? we ate at their hawker centre. but the tourguide is still the same guy. so my parents had to point to the pictures to order the food. HAHAHAHA! but its quite a sumptious meal! ((:

Thien Hou Temple. quite big. prayed to the various deities and gods there! i hope they can hear me! ((: took a group photo infront of the temple and boy, the sun was glaring! so you can see all our frowning expressions. hahaha!

after the visit to Thien Hou Temple, we went to shop shop! went to the chinese market and its super nice to shop there! my sister bought her big big lagguage bag from there, and we bought slippers, and socks and bags! a nice place to shop but not enough time! grrrr. hahahaha. otherwise we'd have bought a lot more thing! this market is even nicer to shop than Ben Thanh Market.

the way they store their goods- big boxes!

the many many things they sell in one shop!

after shopping, we went back to our hotel to bathe, wash up, freshen up, rest a little before heading to the river cruise for dinner! a pretty place with nice ambience and lightings. haha but again, we had to point pictures to order food. hahahaha!

on the cruise!

after dinner with the cruise!

so that ends Day Two!
