Day One
reached budget terminal around 10.45 am. ate a little in the airport just before we board the train. but mean while, we had some time so we took a few pictures here and there...

Budget Terminal
since tiger airways is a budget airline so there isn't the tunnel for us to walk along to board the plane. so we had to literally climb the stairs up to the plane. hahah. however, i only managed a few backview shots because i can't take pictures of the plane outside. i guess its for the safety of the plane.

International Airport! 3 months old! ((:
since tiger airways is a budget airline, no lunch is provided. so we were all starving when we reached vietnam. but we had to check in with our luaggage before going out for lunch. haha! our hotel is only a 3 star hotel but then its quite nice and clean! hahaha. liberty 2 hotel. plus, right beside it, there's a full body massage centre. opposite it, there's the ben thanh market, and some tourists attractions which we would be going on day two. quite convenient right? hahahaha.
GOSH! they even have KUMON in Vietnam!
so our lunch was in this nice restaurant. their fried rice is quite nice! i like their spring roll too! heehee. very cute pictures of the food. but then their drink is rather sweet. cuz i ordered some lime juice thingy with crushed ice. so when i drank, there were some small cubes so i thought maybe those were crushed ice. but then i realised those are sugar!! hahaha. that why they gave us the spoon for us to stir the drink! hahaha! but their desserts are very nice! the icecream is very tasty. we also ordered fried banana, banana crepe, banana pancake. all very sweet and unique! haha nice lunch! ((:

after which, we went back to our hotel to rest and bathe. then at 8pm vietnam time, we met up to go for dinner. the dinner was kind of horrid. we were all still quite full from lunch so din want to order too much. but then, we have a language barrier and the tour guide didn't help us order or anything though he was the one who brought us to the restaurant. so we ended up ordering too much food and we were all rather mad at the tourguide. quite dumb. don't even know how to take initiative to help us translate to the waiter.
so we ended up with a lot of food. hahaha! nice to see but not very nice to eat. so after stuffing with whatever we could, we left finally. went for a city tour on the van. but then we can't even take any pictures with the van moving so we requested to walk instead. so took some pictures along the way. then changed some money and then left to go back to the hotel cuz its rather late.

so on the way back to the hotel, we stopped by to change currency. and before going back, we captured some night shots! ((:

and vietnam is very interesting. they specially employ green uniform police to help protect the tourists. so then we went back to the hotel then walked to ben thanh market. hahaha! the walk was rather exciting! hahaha. at first we all din dare to cross the road ourselves so when nhan started crossing, we all lined up in a straight row beside him! hahaha! cuz if we lagged or walked too fast, we might be knocked down! hahahaha.
reached there after crossing a few streets. and my dad bought a shirt from the first stall! hahaha! see how fast we progressed? heehee. then while waiting for them to shop, i asked nhan how to say how much in vietnamese language. this is a rather important and essential phrase for SHOPPING! hahahah!
at first he verbally taught us but then we couldn't remember so he wanted to write it down. since we din have any paper or anything to write on, he just wrote on my hand. but then he wrote it such that i had to turn my palm outwards so i can read and he kept laughing at how silly i look! -.- hahahaha!
then after a while at around 11 pm vietnam time, all the shops began to close so we make our way back to the hotel for the night. we watched a little teevee before turning in to bed.
at first, the sleeping arrangements were as such: air con, me, my younger sister, my elder sister. the air con was so strong that it skipped me and blew directly at my younger sister. so in the middle of the night, she got so cold that she started sneezing and woke my elder sister and subsequently me up. hahahaha! so i changed place with her since my area of the bed was warm and snugly. but just as i was about to doze off again, my younger sister woke me up to tell me that she is feeling a little feverish and feel like puking. so i had to climb out of bed at 5am singapore time. gosh. hahaha was feeling rather tired but worried cuz it was only the first night!! hahahaha! okay so we chatted until she felt better. then finally at 5.45am, we all went back to sleep.

this eventually became my favourite spot to sleep. the sofa bed look alike. hahahah! but everytime during the night, my sister will switch off the air con cuz its too cold. being cooped under the blanket with no aircon is really hot and stuffy so i'd rather sleep there, so nice and cooling! the aircon's directly above so it'll never reach me. hahaha! yep
yupyup so that's all for first night! ((:
